Designed for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses
This course directly addresses the causes and consequences of professional burnout, and includes a process of change. It is a 32 hour commitment for those that are serious about improving their well-being. An overview of the physiology and genetics of stress related disease is presented, as well as the mind/body interventions that relieve stress, build resilience and improve health. You will have the opportunity to experience numerous techniques based on mindfulness practices from several traditions, and skills will be developed, so that you will be comfortable enough with your new learnings to continue to practice on your own. IIH also has coaches available to support the training should a learner request.
This 18-hour program is designed to lift the cloud that hangs over individuals who have experienced traumatic stress, especially healthcare providers who have been accused of medical malpractice. During the training you will have the opportunity to transform and enhance the way you see yourself by gaining personal insight, identifying resources, engaging in practices to manage stress & increase resilience, rebuilding self-esteem, improving relationships and restoring a sense of mastery. You will learn to access a focused state of mind imbued with calm self-assurance, and you will practice techniques for recovering calm and focus, when confused, triggered, or distracted.
